Skilled volunteer management, whether for large projects or for small daily tasks is an important component of your organizational operations. Care and Feeding of Volunteers relates the story of  a 35-mile trail construction project for the Arizona National Scenic Trail in Pima County.  Nearly $2.5 million (at the federal rate of $24.69/hour) in volunteer labor between 2004 and 2011 was donated to this project, along with $200,000 in donated materials and sponsorship contributions made this extensive project a success.
