ELCR and American Trails Bring You Our Recorded Webinar:
How They Did It: Advocacy, Planning and Creating Equestrian Trails Through Organizations
Date Recorded: August 23, 2018
American Trails and ELCR recently partnered to bring you this webinar. As part of their Advancing Trails Webinar Series, American Trails hosted representatives of local organizations from different areas of the US, as they related their particular stories. Each presenter discussed the issues that resulted in the formation of their organizations; the process for forming their organization, and how partnerships with other organizations and agencies helped them to achieve their desired goals. The regional and local conditions that result in loss of trail access are explored for each organization’s locale, including poor trail design, soils and drainage issues, addressing maintenance, and unsustainable trail behaviors, and how those may be resolved with better planning.
Presented by:
- Denise O’Meara, Director of Education, Equine Land Conservation Resource
- Mary Farr, Back Country Horsemen First Coast
- Lyndall Erb, President, Bay Area Barns and Trails
- Mark Flint, Southwest Trail Solutions
